13 lucky podcasts for my thirteenth blog

MY first rules of thumb: listen to something you can laugh with, get inspired by or learn from.

Fact: creatives spend more time than we like sitting at a desk working on designs. So to fix the monotony, I explore podcasts. I listen to podcasts. And I mean, listen all day to podcasts. I have my favorites, and I run out of them quickly. I love so many.

About: Hilarious Interviews of British Comics and Personalities

Episode to Start with: Cleaning Poo at Rada or Medic!!

When I listen: Literally any time they have a new podcast out. I’ve listened to the two podcasts above more that 20 times each because they just make me laugh over and over. Comedy at its absolute finest.

When I listen: Again, literally whenever there is a new episode. They blend humor with technology news like the coolest guys you knew in high school. (I graduated from high school in 2018; these guys could literally be the cool guys from my high school which is pretty cool.)

About: International Cooking Technique, Journalism and Inspiration

Episode to Start with: Salt, Fat, Acid Heat: The Elements of Good Cooking - This episode introduced me to Samin Norsat who is now all over Netflix and the NYT. She has such a passion for cooking and I now know so much more in the kitchen.

When I listen: When I can’t wait to get home and start cooking. There are some days I really don’t want to look at the computer when I get home and just want to work with my hands. This podcast is such a winner to inspire creations in the kitchen.


Getting Curious with Jonathan Van Ness

About: Hilarious Learning from the Experts by a top Netflix: Queer Eye Star

Episode to Start with: Can Your Vote Really Make a Difference with Nancy Pelosi - I mean, he got to interview Nancy Pelosi!

When I listen: Jonathan is absolutely hilarious and a great catalyst to transition a boring day into one full of “desk smiling”.


The Dollop with Dave Anthony and Gareth Reynolds

About: History Through a Comedic Lens

Episode to Start with: Andrew Jackson - Start with someone you thought you knew, it’s pretty interesting.

When I listen: When work isn’t extremely creative and more “work, work”. I can listen to the Gareth interludes and chuckle a little.


I’ve realized most of these have some sort of comedic entity, which makes so much sense. I feel like you should always be having fun, no matter what you’re doing. Even the hardest day can be filled with a little laughter in the ear.
